Edmund had mom issues of epic proportions, to a point that some would attribute his horrifying acts as having been directly a result of the way his mother berated and humiliated him his entire life. Edmund's hatred for his mother spilled over into a hatred towards women that sent him on a mission to kill as many as he could - until he finally eliminated the one woman in the world he hated the most. Only then would Edmund feel everything was finally right with the world.
